Author Fees
This page explains how author payouts and platform fees work on esdecode.com. Clear, predictable fees help authors plan pricing and earnings while allowing the marketplace to operate and provide services (payments, distribution, support infrastructure).
Commission rate
Authors receive 70% of the item sale price. The platform retains 30% as a commission to cover platform costs, payment processing, fraud protection, hosting and support.
Transaction & processing fees
We do not charge separate transaction fees to buyers or authors beyond the platform commission. Payment processor fees (charged by Stripe/PayPal or other payment providers) are covered by the platform within the commission. Authors do not receive an additional deduction labelled "transaction fee" on each payout; the 30% commission is the only platform fee.
Payouts
Buyer payments are collected by esdecode.com. After a successful sale, the author share is credited to the author's internal marketplace balance. It is not transferred automatically at checkout.
Standard author payouts are reviewed monthly. The minimum unpaid balance for payout is $50, and new earnings may be held for at least 30 days to cover refunds, chargebacks, fraud checks, tax review, account verification and other risk controls. Payouts may be made by bank transfer, PayPal or another supported payout method.
Examples
- Item price: $20 → Author receives $14 (70%), Platform keeps $6 (30%).
- Item price: $100 → Author receives $70, Platform keeps $30.
Refunds & chargebacks
Refunds and chargebacks may affect author earnings. If a sale is refunded, the payment amount will be deducted from the associated earnings and payouts. For detailed refund rules see our Refund Policy.
Author responsibilities
Authors are expected to provide support for their items according to the support policy described in the item listing. Authors should accurately describe compatibility and requirements, and respond to buyer queries in a timely manner.
