Author Fees

This page explains how author payouts and platform fees work on esdecode.com. Clear, predictable fees help authors plan pricing and earnings while allowing the marketplace to operate and provide services (payments, distribution, support infrastructure).

Commission rate

Each author pays 0% platform commission until they reach $1,000 in product sales before tax or until 12 months after account registration, whichever comes first. After the offer ends, authors receive 80% and the platform retains 20% to cover marketplace operations, fraud protection, hosting and support.

Transaction & processing fees

Taxes collected from buyers are not author earnings. Payment processor fees charged by Stripe or another payment provider are deducted from author earnings on each sale. These third-party processing fees apply during the fee-free launch allowance as well as after it. The marketplace does not add a separate fixed transaction fee.

Payouts

Buyer payments are collected by esdecode.com. After a successful sale, the author share is credited to the author's internal marketplace balance. It is not transferred automatically at checkout.

Standard author payouts are reviewed monthly. The minimum unpaid balance for payout is $20, and new earnings are held for at least 30 days to cover refunds, chargebacks, fraud checks, tax review, account verification and other risk controls. Payouts may be made by bank transfer, PayPal or another supported payout method.

Examples

Want to estimate your take-home pay? Try the seller earnings calculator — it factors in Stripe fees, the 20% commission and the 0% launch allowance.

Refunds & chargebacks

Refunds and chargebacks may affect author earnings. If a sale is refunded, the associated earnings are reversed and any fee-free allowance consumed by that sale is restored. For detailed refund rules see our Refund Policy.

Author responsibilities

Authors are expected to provide support for their items according to the support policy described in the item listing. Authors should accurately describe compatibility and requirements, and respond to buyer queries in a timely manner.
