Frequently Asked Questions
What are the server requirements to run HelpDeskPro?
HelpDeskPro requires PHP 8.2 or higher, MySQL, and Composer to install Laravel 11 dependencies. No Node.js or front-end build step is needed, as Tailwind CSS is loaded via CDN, making server setup straightforward.
What user roles are included, and what can each role do?
There are three roles: Admin, Agent, and Customer, each with their own role-based dashboard. Admins manage all tickets, categories, agents, and teams; Agents can reply, add internal notes, and update ticket statuses; Customers can only create tickets and view their own submissions, enforced via policy-based authorization.
Are internal notes visible to customers?
No — internal notes are staff-only and are hidden from customers entirely. They appear highlighted in the conversation thread so agents and admins can communicate privately without the customer seeing those messages.
Is the source code included and can I customise it for my project?
Yes, the full source code is included, built on a clean Laravel 11 MVC structure that is straightforward to extend and customise. You can add new features, modify roles, or restyle the UI to fit your branding.
Does the product include any demo data or test accounts to evaluate it quickly?
Yes, a demo seeder is included that populates the database with ready-to-use Admin, Agent, and Customer accounts. This lets you log in as each role immediately after installation and explore all features without manual setup.
What is included in terms of ticket management and filtering for admins?
Admins get a dedicated ticket manager with filters for status, priority, category, and assignee, plus search and pagination for handling large volumes of tickets. Each ticket also has a full activity timeline tracking assignments, status changes, and replies, giving admins complete visibility over every support interaction.
