Inkpress requires Node.js (v18+ recommended) and a package manager such as npm, pnpm, or yarn. It is built with Nuxt 3, Vue 3, and TypeScript, so familiarity with those technologies will help you customise it. No external CMS or database is required — content is managed directly through a typed composable.

No — Inkpress ships with a typed content layer built into a composable, so you manage all your posts and categories directly in your codebase without subscribing to or configuring any external CMS. Simply add or edit your content files and the typed layer keeps everything consistent.

Both deployment modes are supported out of the box. Run 'nuxt generate' to output a fully static site you can host on any CDN or static host (Netlify, Vercel, GitHub Pages, etc.), or run 'nuxt build' to deploy a Node.js SSR server via Nitro for dynamic server-side rendering.

Inkpress includes a home page (featured post + article grid), individual article pages at /posts/:slug, category listing pages at /categories/:category, an about page, and a branded 404 page. File-based routing is used throughout, so adding new pages is as simple as creating a new file in the pages directory.

Each page uses Nuxt 3's built-in useSeoMeta and useHead composables to set per-page titles, meta descriptions, and Open Graph tags. This means every article and category page can have its own tailored metadata without any third-party plugin.

The editorial design uses Spectral serif for headlines and a single vermilion accent colour, both of which are straightforward to swap out via CSS variables or your stylesheet. Covers are CSS color-blocks (no images required), making it easy to rebrand the entire look without replacing any assets.
