It is dependency-free on the frontend, meaning it ships its own lightweight, self-contained CSS and JS without relying on external libraries. There is also no build step needed, so installation and setup are straightforward.

You can embed any gallery using the shortcode [mosaika id="N"], where N is the gallery's ID, and it works in any editor or widget that accepts shortcodes. Alternatively, you can use the dedicated Mosaika Gallery block in the WordPress block editor, which is dynamic and renders the latest gallery settings without a build step. Both methods support per-embed overrides, so you can customise layout options for a specific placement without changing the gallery's global settings.

Each gallery independently supports three layouts — grid, masonry, and justified rows — and you can set the number of columns (2–6), gap size, captions, and lightbox on a per-gallery basis. The built-in lightbox is accessible and keyboard-navigable (ESC to close, arrow keys to browse), with managed focus and captions, all without any external JavaScript dependency.
