Description
Blaupunkt BNO881 FIS1 Radio Code Calculator – Full Python Source Code
Add BNO881 / FIS1 radio PIN recovery to your automotive repair or diagnostic workflow. This complete Python source package includes an offline desktop calculator, command-line tools and a documented integration API for compatible Blaupunkt BNO881 FIS1 / Type 1 data.
Designed for automotive electronics developers, EEPROM programmers, radio repair specialists and workshops, the application decodes compatible 24C32 EEPROM dumps or manually entered FIS1 HEX data and displays all matching four-digit PIN candidates.
Full source code included. Local calculations. No online PIN database or software activation required.
Key Features
- EEPROM dump decoding: read compatible 4096-byte 24C32 binary dumps and extract FIS1 data.
- Automatic block detection: locate FIS1 copies at standard and relocated 16-byte-aligned offsets.
- Data integrity checks: validate repeated copies and zero padding; reject conflicting copies with clear errors.
- Manual HEX decoding: decode an eight-byte FIS1 value, with spaces, colons or hyphens accepted as separators.
- PIN-to-FIS1 encoding: generate FIS1 values for development and integration testing.
- All matching candidates: preserve leading zeroes and display multiple PIN matches when an encoding collision occurs.
- Desktop interface: dedicated EEPROM Dump, Manual FIS1 HEX and Encode PIN tabs.
- Offline processing: desktop calculations run locally without a network connection.
- Developer integration: documented Python API and command-line interface.
- Browser demo source: restricted manual HEX decoding, a synthetic EEPROM example and compatibility information.
- Validation resources: automated tests and synthetic sample data included.
Compatible Radio Families
Supports selected variants from the following families only when the individual unit uses Blaupunkt BNO881 and FIS1 / Type 1:
- Volkswagen: selected MCD, MFD and MFD2 / RNS2 variants.
- Audi: selected Navigation Plus variants.
- Škoda: selected Navigation variants.
- Seat: selected Dynamic Navigation variants.
Compatible-family examples include 1J0 035 191 A/B/C, 1K0 035 198 A/C/BX, selected 3B0 035 191, 7L6 035 191, 4B0 035 192 and 8E0 035 192 families, and 1U0 035 191 A/B. These are scope examples, not individual hardware-tested claims. Model names, part-number prefixes and EEPROM type alone do not establish compatibility.
How It Works
- Open a compatible EEPROM dump or enter an eight-byte FIS1 HEX value.
- For full dumps, the application checks the repeated FIS1 structures and their consistency.
- View the encoded value, detected copy offsets and all matching PIN candidates.
- Copy the result or integrate decoding into your own Python workflow through the supplied API.
What Is Included?
- Full Python source code for the codec, dump detector, desktop application, CLI and restricted browser demo.
- Documented integration API.
- Pinned dependency files and a Windows executable build script.
- Automated regression tests and a clearly marked synthetic demonstration dump.
- README, Quick Start, compatibility guide, API documentation and demo deployment instructions.
- Changelog, source packaging tool and third-party component notices.
This listing is for the source code package. The included build instructions allow you to create a standalone Windows executable that runs without Python installed.
Technical Requirements
- Source execution: Python 3.14 or newer with pip.
- Desktop interface: Tk support and CustomTkinter 6.0.0.
- Validated desktop target: Windows x64. Other platforms are not certified by this release.
- Executable build: PyInstaller 6.22.3.
- Optional browser demo: Waitress 3.0.2.
- Core codec and dump detector: Python standard library only.
Compatibility and Limitations
- Full-dump detection accepts exactly 4096 bytes and requires at least three agreeing, zero-padded FIS1 blocks on 16-byte boundaries, including three equally spaced copies.
- Explicit raw input supports eight-byte FIS1 values or sixteen-byte blocks with eight trailing zero bytes. Raw input does not receive full EEPROM integrity verification.
- The default decoder searches PINs from 0000 to 1999. The development encoder accepts 0000 to 9999.
- Some encoded values match multiple PINs. The original PIN cannot be determined from that encoded value alone.
- FIS2 / Type 2, FIS3 / Type 3, RCD300/310/500/510, RNS310/510 and VW Alpha/Beta/Gamma are not supported.
- Unrelated 25C160 / 25160 / 95320 / 95640 algorithms are not supported.
- Serial-number-based recovery, physical radio model identification and EEPROM programming are not included.
- The browser demo accepts manual HEX and a built-in synthetic example; arbitrary EEPROM file uploads are not included.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which radios are supported?
The calculator supports selected Volkswagen, Audi, Škoda and Seat radios using Blaupunkt BNO881 with FIS1 / Type 1 data. A radio name or part number alone does not confirm compatibility. FIS2, FIS3, RCD300/310/500/510 and RNS310/510 are not supported.
Can I recover a PIN using only the radio serial number?
No. You need a compatible 4096-byte 24C32 EEPROM dump or an eight-byte FIS1 HEX value. Serial-number-based recovery and EEPROM reading or programming are not included.
Does the package include source code, and does it work offline?
Yes. The package includes full Python source code, a desktop interface, CLI tools, a documented API, tests and build instructions. Desktop calculations work offline without an online PIN database or activation server. Running the source requires Python and the listed dependencies; a standalone Windows executable can be built using the included instructions.
