Description
Formwork is a clean, builder-first WordPress form plugin. A true three-pane builder — a palette of field types, a canvas you reorder by drag, and a contextual inspector — lets you assemble a form in minutes, then drop it anywhere with the [formwork id="N"] shortcode or the Formwork block.
Submissions land on a clean Entries screen with read/unread tracking, a detail view and one-click CSV export; every form can email one or more addresses with an optional auto-reply. A honeypot and submit-time check keep most spam out without a captcha. Built to WordPress standards — capability checks, nonces, sanitised input, escaped output, prepared queries — translation-ready, no build step.

Frequently Asked Questions
What are the WordPress requirements to run Formwork?
Formwork is built to WordPress coding standards and requires a standard WordPress installation with no additional build step or external dependencies. It is compatible with the Gutenberg block editor as well as classic-editor shortcode workflows, so it works with any modern WordPress theme.
How do I embed a form on a page or post?
You can embed any form using the [formwork id="N"] shortcode in any post, page, or widget area, or by inserting the dedicated Formwork block directly in the Gutenberg editor. Both methods display the same fully functional frontend form with AJAX submission.
What field types are available in the form builder?
Formwork includes 11 field types, such as text, dropdown, choices, checkboxes, and date fields. Each field can be individually configured as required, set to half or full width, and given help text or custom options through the contextual inspector panel.
How are form submissions stored and exported?
All submissions are saved to a dedicated Entries screen inside your WordPress admin, where you can track read/unread status and open a full detail view of each entry. You can export all entries for any form as a CSV file with a single click.
Does Formwork send email notifications, and is there an auto-reply for submitters?
Yes — each form can be configured to send email notifications to one or more addresses when a submission is received. You can also enable an optional auto-reply so submitters automatically receive a confirmation email after they submit the form.
Does Formwork use a CAPTCHA, and how does it handle spam?
Formwork does not require a CAPTCHA, so there is no friction for genuine users. Instead, it uses a honeypot field combined with a submit-time check to block the majority of automated spam submissions without any third-party service.
