Description

A production-ready, self-hosted queue / ticketing management system for banks, clinics, hospitals, government service halls, telecom stores and any walk-in service business that needs orderly queuing across multiple locations.

The system cleanly separates the three real-world roles into purpose-built front-ends:

  • Kiosk — a touch-friendly self-service dispenser. Visitors pick Branch → Department → Service and receive a numbered ticket (with optional VIP priority that auto-jumps the queue).

  • Counter — a staff workbench. Agents open a window session, call the next ticket, start/hold/complete service, transfer, or mark a no-show — every action is written to a ticket event log.

  • Display — a public big-screen board that announces the currently-called ticket and the named queue in real time, designed for wall-mounted TVs.

On top of the three screens there is an Admin / Branch Manager back office for managing branches (hard-capped at 3 in the standard license), departments, services, counters and staff, plus a daily operations report with CSV export.

A JWT-protected REST API (fully documented with Swagger / OpenAPI) drives everything and is ready for third-party integration — kiosks, mobile apps, or external CRMs. A configurable outbound webhook pushes ticket lifecycle events (issued / called / serving / completed / no_show / held / transferred) with exponential-backoff retries.

The backend is a single Fastify process that also serves the built Vue front-end from the same origin, so deployment is one command. For evaluation it runs on SQLite with automatic schema sync and seeded demo data — no external database is required to see the full flow working. Switch to MySQL 8 by setting environment variables; the same Sequelize models apply.

This is a focused core engine, not a bloated platform — every feature listed below actually ships, and the honest boundaries are documented.

Features

Multi-branch architecture — manage up to 3 branches/networks from one codebase; all data is scoped per branch.
Departments & services — organize services under departments; custom ticket prefixes (A-, G-, P-…), per-service language and VIP priority rules.
Counter management — create counters and bind them to specific services via a many-to-many relation.
Self-service kiosk — Branch → Department → Service selection, normal / VIP priority, daily-reset sequential numbering.
Full 8-state ticket lifecycle — waiting → called → serving → completed, plus held / transferred / no_show, enforced by a strict state machine (illegal transitions are rejected, not silently ignored).
Counter workbench — call next, re-call, start service, complete, hold/release, transfer (same branch only) and no-show.
Live display board — announces the current ticket and the waiting list; supports "Now" and "By Service" layouts; polls over plain HTTP every 3–5 s (WebSocket not required).
Voice announcements — browser-native Web Speech API; speaks ticket number + counter, with configurable rate/pitch/volume.
Multi-language UI + RTL — English, Spanish and Arabic packs; Arabic automatically flips to RTL layout.
Role-based access control — Admin, Branch Manager, Counter Staff, plus unauthenticated Kiosk/Display terminals, all enforced with JWT.
REST API + Swagger/OpenAPI — documented endpoints for ticketing, queue summary, calling and reports; interactive docs at /docs.
Outbound webhooks — one global callback, persistent delivery queue, exponential-backoff retries (configurable max).
Daily operations report — issued / served / completed / no-show, average wait, average service, per-counter call counts, CSV export.
Per-branch timezone — each branch renders timestamps in its own timezone.
Zero-config demo mode — SQLite file DB with automatic schema sync and demo seed on first launch.
Production DB support — switch to MySQL 8 via environment variables; identical models.
Dependency-light front-end — Vue 3 + vue-router + hand-written CSS; no heavy UI kit to fight with.
