Purgely — Bulk Product & Image Cleaner for WooCommerce

Description
Purgely is a WordPress plugin that safely bulk-deletes WooCommerce products and reclaims disk space by really deleting their images (featured image + gallery). When you delete products the normal way, their images stay behind in the Media Library and on disk — after imports, demo data or store clean-ups, that orphaned media quietly eats storage.
Purgely fixes it with a safe, reviewable flow: filter the products you want gone, run a dry-run to preview exactly what will be removed (and what will be kept because it's shared), then delete the products and their non-shared images in one go. Built to WordPress standards — capability checks, nonces, sanitised input, escaped output — translation-ready, no build step.

- Dry-run preview: products, images to delete, images kept (shared) & reclaimed space.
- Really deletes image files from
wp-content/uploads, not just the product. - Shared-media protection (always on) + required confirmation + cleanup log.

Frequently Asked Questions
What are the requirements to run Purgely?
Purgely requires a self-hosted WordPress installation with WooCommerce active. Because it directly deletes files from wp-content/uploads, your server must grant PHP write access to that directory — standard on most managed WordPress hosts.
Will Purgely delete images that are used by other products or pages on my site?
No — shared-media protection is always on and cannot be disabled. Before any file is removed, Purgely checks whether the image is referenced elsewhere in WordPress; if it is, the file is kept and flagged as 'shared' in both the dry-run preview and the cleanup log.
What does the dry-run preview actually show me before I commit to deleting anything?
The dry-run lists every product that matches your filters, the images that would be permanently deleted from disk, any images that would be kept because they are shared, and an estimate of the disk space you would reclaim. Nothing is deleted during a dry-run — it is purely a read-only preview so you can review the impact before confirming.
Does Purgely permanently remove image files from the server, or just remove them from the Media Library?
Purgely permanently deletes the physical image files from wp-content/uploads on disk, not just the Media Library records. This is the core problem it solves — standard WooCommerce product deletion leaves those files behind, silently consuming storage.
Will bulk-deleting a large number of products cause a server timeout?
No — Purgely processes deletions in batches using AJAX requests, so no single request runs long enough to hit a typical server timeout limit. This makes it safe to use even on stores with thousands of products.
Does Purgely include developer hooks, and is it translation-ready?
Yes — the plugin ships with developer hooks so you can extend or modify its behaviour without editing core files. It is also fully translation-ready and requires no build step, meaning you can install and use it immediately straight from the zip file.
