Description
Klaxon adds lightweight, good-looking announcement bars and notice widgets to any WordPress site — announce a sale, a shipping deadline, a new release or a cookie notice, and control exactly when and where each one appears.
Build as many bars as you need with a message, call-to-action button and colors; position them top or bottom; schedule a start and end time with an optional live countdown; and target the whole site, front page, posts or pages. Bars display automatically in the footer or inline via the [klaxon id="12"] shortcode.

Frequently Asked Questions
What are the minimum WordPress and PHP requirements to run Klaxon?
Klaxon requires WordPress 6.2 or higher and PHP 8.0 or higher. The plugin is built with clean, namespaced, standards-first code, so keeping your environment up to date ensures full compatibility.
Can I show different announcement bars on different pages, or does it have to be site-wide?
Klaxon gives you flexible page targeting per bar — you can display a bar across the entire site, only on the front page, on all posts, on all pages, or on specific individual posts or pages. Each bar is configured independently, so you can run a site-wide sale banner alongside a checkout-specific shipping deadline notice at the same time.
How does the scheduling and countdown timer work?
Each bar has an optional start date and end date, so it will appear and disappear automatically without any manual intervention. You can also enable a live countdown timer on a bar, which displays the time remaining until the end date — ideal for sale deadlines or product launch announcements.
Can visitors dismiss the announcement bars, and will they keep seeing them on every visit?
Yes — each bar can be made dismissible, and once a visitor closes it, that choice is remembered via a cookie so the bar does not reappear on subsequent visits. The cookie duration is configurable, so you control exactly how long a dismissal is remembered.
How do I display a bar in the middle of a post or page rather than at the top or bottom of the site?
You can place any bar inline anywhere in your content using the shortcode [klaxon id="12"], replacing the number with your bar's ID. All bars also display automatically via the footer without any shortcode if you prefer the global top-or-bottom position options.
Does Klaxon remove its data from the database when it is uninstalled?
Klaxon includes a clean uninstall routine that can optionally remove all plugin data from your database when you delete it. This means no leftover settings, bar configurations, or options are left behind unless you choose to keep them.
