Description

Storekit is a complete, self-hosted online store built with Laravel 11 and MySQL. It pairs a clean customer storefront with a full admin panel — products, categories, orders, customers and settings — with no SaaS fees and no monthly lock-in. Tailwind via CDN, custom authentication, no npm/Vite build step.

The storefront has a homepage with featured & category sections, a catalog with filters, search and sorting, product pages with stock and sale pricing, a session cart and a guest checkout that places real orders. The admin panel covers a stats dashboard, full product & category CRUD, order management with a status workflow, a customers view and configurable store settings.

Highlights

  • Real order flow — checkout writes Order + OrderItem records in a DB transaction and decrements stock.
  • Configurable currency symbol, flat shipping and tax rate (editable in admin).
  • Clean Blade + Tailwind (CDN) — no build step, easy to customise.
  • Ships with a seeder: admin account, categories, 12 products and sample orders.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the server requirements to run Storekit?

Storekit requires a server with PHP (compatible with Laravel 11), MySQL, and Composer. Because Tailwind is loaded via CDN and there is no npm/Vite build step, Node.js is not required on your server. A standard shared or VPS host that supports Laravel 11 is sufficient.

Which payment methods does Storekit support out of the box?

Storekit ships with three payment methods: Cash on Delivery (COD), bank transfer, and Stripe card payments via Stripe Checkout. Stripe is integrated through the HTTP API directly — no PHP SDK is needed — and your Stripe keys are entered and managed from the admin panel.

Do I need any SaaS subscription or third-party platform to run the store?

No — Storekit is fully self-hosted, meaning you own and control the code on your own server with no SaaS fees, no monthly platform costs, and no external lock-in. The only optional third-party dependency is Stripe if you choose to accept card payments.

What is included in the package — is there a working demo with sample data?

The package includes the complete Laravel 11 source code for both the customer storefront and the admin panel, covering products, categories, orders, customers, shipping, payments, and store settings. It also ships with a database seeder that populates an admin account, categories, 12 sample products, and sample orders so you can explore a working store immediately after setup.

How easy is it to customise the storefront design?

The storefront is built with Laravel Blade templates and Tailwind CSS loaded via CDN, so there is no build step — you can edit the HTML and Tailwind utility classes directly in the template files without any npm commands or compilation. Currency symbol, tax rate, and flat shipping fee are all configurable from the admin panel without touching code.

Can shoppers check out without creating an account?

Yes — Storekit supports guest checkout, allowing customers to place real orders without registering. The checkout writes the order and all order items to the database in a single DB transaction and decrements product stock, so inventory stays accurate regardless of whether the buyer is a guest or a returning customer.
